To the "Batmobile" Margaret

Image
Wow, Batman - two posts in one day!!!  Yes, that is true......this time I was inspired by a challenge over at ARTtastic Challenge to be inspired by the photo of the children dressed as Batman and Robin below. I have just looked at it more closely and it is street art by Fintan Magee - amazing! I have always been a movie fan and my favourite trivia questions are Movies and TV, so I was like a bat in a batmobile when I toured Warner Bros. Studios last May.  Pure Hollywood!! Perfect for this challenge. The cardstock is from Stampin'Up! (r) and the word and film embellishments are from Paper Loft Accessory Sheet called Shades of Gray. I love the "Be" words and they sum me up perfectly. Die cut stars and a bit of bling rhinestones complete the page.   One of my favourite quotes that I have loved and lived by for many many years is: Whatever you are--be that: Whatever you say--be true: Straightforwardly act-- Be honest--in fact, Be nobody else but you .   T

The boarding of Flight 2015

The words of wisdom on this layout are from an email sent to me by a friend at the beginning of 2015.  I loved the words so much that I decided that I would make it the front page for an album for the coming year.  I created the layout last year at Great Lakes Mega Meet scrapbooking event in Novi, Detroit, Michigan USA.   Not my normal style of layout and it has laid in my pile obviously just waiting for the right occasion and I am sorry I did not record from what company created this kit. A joyous and healthy New Year to everyone............Margaret :)

Australia Day 2015

Image
This weekend my brother and sister-in-law came up to stay.  Fishing, relaxing and watching movies was the go for most of the weekend.  This morning, we were watching the ABC telecast of Australia Day ceremonies from Canberra, ACT and when they announced that the National Anthem was going to be sung I quickly headed for my Australian flag and a serviette I had and sung along.  I asked my brother to take photos - never miss a scrapbook opportunity. This layout was done for a challenge over at Mystical Scrapbooks - the challenge was an ode to Australia Day.  On the layout we were to include - the colours red, white and blue, stripes and stars. I know our stars are not red but artistic licence was applied to the layout.  A clean and simple layout. It is late and the photo of the layout has not been captured to its best advantage - I may just take the opportunity tomorrow if the sun comes out to take another....... Do you know the words to the Australian National Anthem?  If not

# Umina Beach Stroll

Image
Last Wednesday, Lynette a friend of mine (we both worked together) called in after she had attended a meeting in Gosford, NSW.  She arrived at about 4pm on a very hot day - cup of coffee, chat and then a stroll on the beach.  But first, she need some flip flops or thongs as we call them here in Australia, to replace her work shoes.  And then we set off for our stroll along Umina Beach. Both Lynette and I have had family members affected by breast cancer (which I will not go into here) however, suffice to say that I support any initiative that raises funds for research.  Avon has these great flip flops in their current catalogues and I just fell in love with them.  I purchased a few pairs to give to my visitors when I take them for a stroll along the beach. And they are only $5 a pair. The paper and summer stickers are from Echo Park - the cork stickers from K-mart.  The cork stickers did not behave themselves - almost like sand they kept breaking and separating as I put them down

Beautiful fleurs

Image
This orchid plant was a gift from my sister for my birthday in December.  On one beautiful sunny day in January the sun shone through my window and the flowers caught the sunshine - quick get the camera I said and capture this beauty for all time. I deliberated for the longest time as to who to embellish the layout. The tag is the one that came with the plant tied with some ribbon and old lace that I had on hand.  Three small paper doilies and three adhesive gems.  “Keep Calm and Grow Orchids.” -Unknown (from the internet) Margaret.
